Find Indigenous Tattoo Artists
We are a group of traditional tattoo practitioners who are working together to slowly archive, and map where there are other folks with this training. Our goal is to support the revitalization of traditional markings for Indigenous bodies and this is our way to build community as we continue to learn and grow together.

Skin Stitching Technique
The needle is used in a sewing technique, where a small string is left on a sewing needle, dipped in ink and sewn through the skin to make stitch marks. Disclaimer
We are at the initial stages of our mapping project. This platform is exhaustive; rather, it marks the commencement of our efforts to chart artists as our mentorship group progresses. As we continue our journey and learn about more individuals throughout Turtle Island who are revitalizing ancestral techniques and adapting traditional tattooing to meet the demands of our present communities, we will include them on the map. Do you have knowledge on traditional tattooing, or are your practicing in your community and looking to connect? Send us an email at asaowew@gmail.com!
